NotGreat

I give my Worst Restaurant in the USA award to La Cocina del Puerco, 10246 Main St, Bellevue, WA.

If it were just a matter of food quality, I'd call La Cocina del Puerco mediocre. Flavour wasn't bad, but it was lukewarm, much like the first time I tried Taco Bell. Unfortunately, it's all downhill from there.

This is possibly the only restaurant in the greater Seattle area which isn't wheelchair accessible, yet it has no excuse for it. Their single step could be ramped with $5 worth of board and a few nails. Anyone who can't get up the step has to eat outside, not a fun concept most of the year in the Pacific Northwest.

Those behind the counter appeared tired and uninterested. I used an Entertainment Book 2-for-1 coupon and they charged tax on the full normal price of the meal. When I pointed out the overcharging, the cashier said that that was "the way we do it", handed me the owner's business card, and said that I could take it up with the owner sometime if I wanted to. When we left, she said "IDIOTS!" and slammed the door behind us.

I've come across other restaurants that overcharge on taxes, but never any others that call their customers idiots if we question the restaurant's right to defraud us in that way.
